A large number of Tamils participated in the ‘Boycott Sri Lanka’ campaign today at Sydney Town Hall.
As the crowd grew, the campaign became more vigour and the demonstrators suddenly staged a sit in protest on George Street. The George Street was blocked by demonstrators.
The Police are monitoring the situation and additional riot police also was called in.
The demonstrators are urging the Rudd government to openly call for a ceasefire and cut trade links with Sri Lanka in an attempt to push the Sri Lankan state into ceasing its military onslaught.
