Youth on 'Fast Unto Action'in Melbourne determined to continue until Aussie Govt. act

[Interview with George Bharani]

The four youth on fast are determined to continue until Australian Government take action, said George Bharani, the youth representative speaking from Melbourne to Tamil National.

The youth are expecting one of the federal member of parliament to come and meet them and receive the memorandom they have prepared and present it in the parliament. They also appeal to the Australian Government to call upon the Sri Lankan Government for a ceasefire.

Close to 400 supporters are at the venue, where the four youth are staging 'fast unto action'and people are continuously joining in. The youth representative said, they are expecting more to come after 3 PM, a minister might come between 3 PM to 5 PM, and the youth representatives are on negotiation with a federal member of parliament.

Doctors are continuously monitoring the health condition of the four youth on fast. According to doctors the health condition of all four up to now is good. It may deteriote past tonight , if they continue the fast, said George Bharani.

Australia thinks that this fasting agenda is not modern as we understand from the foreign affairs minister.
But in this democratice society, a responsible minister and his collegues not responding to requests
frpm fellow citizens is neither a welcome gesture.
u may reap the results when the time comes for us to express our 'say' at the hastings time !!!
