Tamils for Obama to Supreme Court: Can the U.S. arrest Rajapaksa?

Tamils for Obama, a political group of American Tamils, wrote to Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court John Roberts asking for his opinion on whether Mahinda Rajapaksa, president of Sri Lanka and possible author of crimes committed during the recent Sri Lankan civil war can be arrested as he travel through U.S. to attend the UN General Assembly in September.

President Rajapaksa, the Chief of Sri Lankan Defence accused of war crime to visit UN

President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who is also the chief commanding officer of the Sri Lanka defence that is allegedly accused of war crime is to lead the Sri Lanka delegation to the United Nations next month, Sri Lankan news papers reported. He will take part in the UN september general assembly in New York.
