Australian Tamils are organizing a 'March for Peace' in Canberra on 17th of April (Friday). They are appealing to all the Tamils to show their solidarity and join the rally. They expect a large number of Tamils to show up at the rally to send a strong message to the government.

The Tamil Diaspora is staging hunger strikes and continuous protest rallies worldwide against the genocide war on Tamils in Sri Lanka. The hunger strike staged by six Australian Tamil youth, as part of this worldwide Tamil’s agitation past 100 hours, one boy's health condition deteriorated fast and was rushed to hospital. The concern grows of irreversible health damages for hunger strikers. But the remaining five hunger strikers refuse to take food or water; they are determined to continue the strike until the Australian Government responds to their demands.

On Wednesday evening, Tamil protesters met Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and handed over their list of demands, and waiting for Australian Government's response.

Doctors examining the six boys who are on a hunger strike outside the Prime Minister’s Canberra residence have warned of low blood sugar levels and signs of severe dehydration. The three boys from Sydney have entered their 100th hour of fasting; all the boys have vowed to continue till the Rudd government responds to their requests.

Australian Tamils say, the international community, including Australia, has the power to stop tens of thousands of people dying over the next few days.

They appeal to Premier Kevin Rudd, "as our Prime Minister recognize and acknowledge our legitimate grievances. We are only asking you to save the lives of civilians dying at the hands of an oppressive state."
