Friday 22 May 2009 will be remembered by the Tamil Diaspora community as the day when all non-Buddhist Sinhalese lost all their rights to live as equal citizens in Sri Lanka.
The day of mourning is worldwide, with Tamils in all parts of the world mourning the loss of life, land and dignity of the Tamils in the island of Sri Lanka.
Tamil Youth Organization in Melbourne has organized three urgent events, in Melbourne.
'National Mourning Day' event at Federation Square,Friday 22nd may from 4-7 pm.
"Unarvu Eluchi Rally" on 23rd May Saturday from 11 am till 2 pm; start from Ferderation Square finish at Federation Square.
"Ninaivu Vanakka Nikalvu" on 24th May Sunday 4pm-7pm at Hungarian Community Centre, 760,Boronia Rd,Wantirna(Melway ref:63 F5)
The organizers call all Tamils to break the silence and show their solidarity, "We can't be silent anymore.Please show your solidarity & support."
