The guns may be silent in Sri Lanka for the first time in 26 years, but the price of peace for the innocent Tamils caught up in the fighting could not be higher ... writes Dan McDougall who travels from the Tamils' UK protest in Parliament Square to the killing fields of Sri Lanka.

Mr Selvarasa Pathmanathan, the Head of International Relations for the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam while explaining the necessity for a Provisional Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam has issued a media release today announcing the establishment of a working committee under the leadership of legal advisor, Mr Rudrakumar Viswanathan to make all necessary pre-arrangements to form such a Government.

Although many countries around the world urge the Sri Lankan government to fulfill the political demands of Tamils through peaceful means, these countries have shown little interest to jump into the conflict to make a deal between the warring Tamils and Sinhalese.  All question the legitimacy of the global governments who once said that Sri Lanka should be brought to court of justice, but then changed their tone saying that Sri Lanka should embrace the Tamils, leaving aside what has happened during the military operations against innocent Tamils in the guise of fighting the LTTE.
